A table for four, in seconds
A four-seat video table for paper Magic, cards in view. No download, no sign-up, no lobby. Everyone types the same room name and you are already playing.
Play paper Magic over webcam.
Type the same room name as everyone else to sit down.
A video table for four, a card scanner that runs on your own machine, and nothing kept about you. No account, no app, no catch. Just a room name.
A four-seat video table for paper Magic, cards in view. No download, no sign-up, no lobby. Everyone types the same room name and you are already playing.
Click any card on the table, yours or an opponent's, and the scanner reads it by sight and names it right there on your screen. Load your decklist and your own cards are recognised faster still.
Your live video goes straight between players. It is never sent to a server, recorded, or stored. Card recognition runs on your own machine. No account, no tracking, no profile. The one thing the server ever keeps is what you choose to share to improve the scanner, and that is a single tap to turn off.
When you scan a card, a still crop of that card and the table around it (never you, never faces) can be saved with the scan's details, so recognition keeps getting better over time. It is my own design, kept here and never sold or run through anyone else's cloud, and it is completely optional: one toggle in settings turns it off, and the scanner still works.
Import from Moxfield, Archidekt, Deckstats, Arena, or paste a list. It is remembered for next time, the table can see what you are on (unless you hide it), and it sharpens every scan of your own cards.
Life, commander damage, poison and every counter, shared and always in sync. Change anyone's total to settle a miscount out loud, while the things that are only yours to track stay yours.
One tap rolls a real d20 for the whole table at once, and everyone sees the same throw. Then the tiles slide themselves into turn order, clockwise, so nobody argues about who goes first.
A built-in camera check watches your webcam and tells you exactly what to change: move closer, kill the glare, hold still. It can even auto-tune your camera's own settings for the sharpest scans your hardware can give.
Six themes, picture quality from low to native 4K, real camera controls, tile rearranging, a focused view, and settings for how the video behaves when a connection struggles. As much or as little as you want to touch.
I am a casual Commander player from Connecticut with a background in cybersecurity, and I built mtgplus myself. Solo, not a company or a committee. That security background is exactly why it works the way it does: your video goes peer to peer and is never stored, and card recognition runs on your own machine. And I would rather be up front than clever, so here it is: the scanner does learn from the cards people scan (a crop of the card, never faces) to get better over time. It is my own design, it never leaves for anyone else's cloud, and you can turn it off with one tap. Transparency matters more to me than a tidy marketing line.
It started on a frustrating night on SpellTable. The camera quality was capped, there was no way to zoom in on anyone's video, and the scanner was garbage. I figured I could do better, so I started building. A fun little side project turned into a real one, and I made it with love: something genuinely fun and easy to use, packed with the features and customization I always wished I had, and open to new ideas instead of tied to a rigid team that barely ships.
I built it for my own playgroup first, but really it is for the whole community, not just my friends but everyone. Playing paper Magic online should feel good, and it should be free.
And it is, always. Everything here is free, and nothing is ever locked behind a payment. If you ever feel like chipping in, donations go purely toward the server costs that keep it running. It is completely optional, and any little bit is genuinely appreciated. Got an idea, or hit something broken? The feedback button inside comes straight to me.

The readings above say whether the picture is good. Whether the scanner gets the card RIGHT needs a card it can be graded against — tell it what you are holding and every scan labels itself.
Starting a run tells the scanner which card is in front of it. From then on every scan you take is labelled automatically — right or wrong — which is what the constants are fitted from. Nothing is shown to the table and nothing is shared; the scans go to this browser’s log.
mtgplus is a free hobby service for playing Magic: The Gathering over video with a small group. By using it you agree to these terms. If you do not, please do not use it.
A four-seat video table with shared life totals and an optional card scanner. There is no account and no sign-up; you join a room by name. Anyone who knows a room name can join it, so choose one that is not easy to guess.
Use it to play games and to report problems. Do not:
You are responsible for anything you type or share. The operator may remove content or block access at its discretion, particularly to comply with the law or a rights-holder's request.
The service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranty of any kind. It is run by one person on a small server and may change, break, or stop at any time. Game state is temporary: it is kept only while a room is in use and is lost when the last player leaves. Do not rely on it to store anything.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the operator is not liable for any damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the service.
The software is proprietary — see the Licenses tab. The service uses Magic: The Gathering content as unofficial fan material — see the Licenses tab. It is not intended for children under 13. These terms may be updated, and continued use after a change means you accept it. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Connecticut, United States. Questions or reports: use the in-app feedback, or contact via mtgplus.app.
The short version: no accounts, no cookies, no analytics, no ads, and no tracking. Your video never reaches the server. Almost nothing is collected, and what is, is described below.
Video is sent directly between players' browsers. The server only helps players find one another to start the connection; it never receives, sees, or stores your video. No audio is captured at all — voice happens elsewhere, such as Discord.
The room name, the display name you type, life totals, and any decklist you load are held in the server's memory only while the room is active, so the game survives a refresh. They are discarded when the last player leaves and are not written to disk. A decklist you mark hidden is not shown to other players.
One exception, because it is a real one: if you leave scan logging on (below), the card names in your own decklist are saved with the scan records, so that a saved scan can be checked later against the list it was searching. Other players' lists are never saved — not by you, and not by anyone else at the table.
If scanning is enabled and you scan a card, the app sends the server a small image of the card area of the video — the table and the cards, not people — along with technical details of the scan, so recognition can be improved over time. You can turn scan logging off in settings, and then nothing is sent.
If you send a bug report or a suggestion, the text you write is stored, together with your browser type and the app version. Please do not include personal information you would not want kept.
If you pair a phone as a camera and the connection does not succeed, both devices send a short technical log so the fault can be found: the steps each one reached, and what kind of network route each offered. Network addresses are removed before it is sent and again when it arrives, so it records that a route existed, never where. The video itself is never involved — it goes straight between your phone and your computer.
Like every website, the server receives your IP address in order to send you the page and to limit abuse. It is not stored in scan records. Ordinary server logs may contain it briefly.
Your preferences, the panel width, and — if you are the operator — your access token are saved in your browser's local storage. They are not sent to the server, and clearing your browser data removes them.
Loading the app causes your browser to fetch card names and images from Scryfall and typefaces from Google Fonts; those providers therefore receive your IP address, as they would for any site that uses them. If you choose to donate, the payment is handled entirely by the provider you pick (such as Stripe or PayPal); your card details go to them and never to this app or its server.
Turn your camera off, turn scan logging off, decline to send feedback, or clear your browser storage — any of these at any time. The service is not intended for children under 13. This notice may be updated; questions can go through the in-app feedback.

Your phone wants to be your camera.
Your phone is your camera. Point it at your cards.
mtgplus is run by one person on a small VPS. Contributions cover hosting and the domain. Everything in the app is free and stays that way — there is no account, no tier, and nothing here is withheld if you skip it.
Payment is handled by the provider you choose. Your card details go to them and never to this app or its server — there is no card form here, and nothing to enter on this page.
Saved in this browser. Your theme is yours - it is how you want your own client to look, not something the table shares.
Changes apply straight away without interrupting anyone. The status line at the top shows what you are actually sending, and says cpu-limited or bandwidth-limited when something is holding it back — which tells you whether to turn this down or blame the wifi.
These adjust the camera itself rather than filtering the picture afterwards, so they cost no performance — and the scanner sees what the camera sees. Getting exposure right here is worth more to scanning than anything applied after the fact: blown highlights destroy detail that nothing downstream can recover.
Scanner help sends what each scan measured, plus a small crop of the table around where you clicked, to this server. Cards and playmat, never faces or audio, and never anything else on your screen. It is what the scanner is tuned from.
